Fort Marshall is the main setting for the series Army Wives and is modeled after a real-life Army post. It is located in Charleston, South Carolina within proximity of an Air Force Base. In season 7, mirroring the real-life Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, Fort Marshall and the Air Force Base were "merged" to become Joint Base Marshall.
Mercer Army Medical Center is the main hospital on post.

Army Wives is set in and filmed on location in Charleston, South Carolina. The real-life Charleston Air Force Base was the setting for the fictional Fort Marshall. Active duty service personnel and their families were hired to play extras and the base's buildings, planes and equipment were filmed for establishing shots.
